Digital Design Studio 2.0.3: A Bigger ALcad Library, Large RTL Schematics and Faster Projects
Digital Design Studio 2.0.3 expands ALcad to 155 circuit components, opens RTL schematics for large projects, and makes project opening faster across workspace windows.
Digital Design Studio 2.0.3 expands ALcad to 155 circuit components, opens RTL schematics for large projects, and makes project opening faster across workspace windows.
155 ALcad circuit components and 35 examples
ALcad's circuit library grows to 155 components in 20 categories, adding power semiconductors, CMOS 4000 packages, op-amp and power models, memory, sensors, switches and connectors. Thirty-five bundled examples, including a 555 astable LED flasher, a behavioral buck converter, an H-bridge motor drive and a 4017 LED sequencer, give you a starting point for analog and digital circuits. New components show their Ideal / behavioral model notes in Properties.
RTL schematics for large projects
Large RTL projects that previously stopped with a request error now open in the RTL schematic and 3D hierarchy views, so you can browse their module hierarchy.
In Cloud projects, each saved version of your RTL is compiled once. Opening the same version again uses the stored result, and after you save RTL changes the server prepares the schematic in the background for your next visit (except in NDA-protected projects). While a schematic is being prepared, the view shows whether it is waiting or compiling and how long it has taken.
Faster project opening
Large projects now open with less waiting. Workspace windows no longer request saved source files individually; they fetch them in batches of up to 64. A file that one window has already read is not downloaded again by other windows of the same project, and only changed files are read again. In a 91-file test project, the first hierarchy pass went from 81 file requests to 2, and from about 3 seconds to 1 second.
Time for the first hierarchy pass (s)
About 66.23% less time
Minimum — 2.0.3 · 2 file requests: 1.03 s. Maximum — Before · 81 file requests: 3.05 s.
| Category | Value (s) |
|---|---|
| Before · 81 file requests | 3.05 |
| 2.0.3 · 2 file requests | 1.03 |
Before · 81 file requests
The 81 source files the hierarchy needs were requested individually.
2.0.3 · 2 file requests
Up to 64 files go into one request, so two requests fetch them all.
Clearer saved analysis results
Saved result tabs now show the viewer first and then the run, such as Waveform · top-v001 or Schematic · top-v001, so tabs stay distinguishable in a narrow tab bar. If a recorded waveform is missing, the viewer explains why and offers Retry reading this waveform, Open RTL simulation or Open saved results.
Share from the project list
Projects in your personal organization have a Share project button in the navigation panel and in the project's right-click menu. It opens the project's sharing section in Settings, which Settings search now also finds with words such as invite or collaborators.
Cloud MCP in Cursor and Grok Bot
You can now connect Cloud MCP from Cursor and Grok Bot. Add the Cloud MCP server in the app, sign in with your Altifigence account and approve the connection. The app can then work with your Cloud projects within the permissions you approved.
The consent page is clearer too. Before you select Allow or Cancel, you can see where you will return afterwards: an address such as www.cursor.com for the web, or the app name, such as the Cursor app, for an app on your device. Check that it is the app you meant to connect before you approve. The consent page is available in 14 languages.
Getting started with a new account
A new Altifigence account gets its personal organization when you complete your profile (name, country and role), and Cloud projects are created in that organization. Until now, opening Cloud before completing the profile showed only an error saying that projects could not be loaded and a retry button, so it was hard to tell what to do next.
Now the dashboard, the IDE, ALcad, Agent and the new project dialog show a prompt to complete your profile instead of an error. Select Complete profile, save your profile, come back and select Check again, and you can create projects right away. In the desktop app, the profile page opens in your default browser. The organization, usage and payment method pages and the Agent settings show the same guidance, and dashboard buttons you cannot use yet explain why. Once your profile is complete, you can also join projects shared with you.
